There are a lot of NGOs in Leeds with experience in supporting asylum seekers, refugees and hosts. On this page, we have listed some of the organisations that we think will be the most useful for current hosts in Otley and people who would like to support asylum seekers and refugees.
Lassn
Leeds Asylum Seekers' Support Network (LASSN) is all about finding ways for people in Leeds to help folks from far away. They support asylum seekers and refugees to be safe, respected, supported and empowered to rebuild their lives free of persecution.

They do this through a number of key projects:

Retas
Established in 2002, RETAS (Refugee Education Training Advice Service) has a vision to see all refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants to feel welcome and supported to fully integrate into society.
​They provide assistance with access to education, re-qualification, training and employment to help them better integrate in their communities. They strive to build confidence and hope in our service users, and empower them to build a safe and secure life here in the UK.
Solace
Solace is a Leeds’ based charity which provides psychotherapy and support to the survivors of persecution and exile living in the Yorkshire and Humber region, many of whom have been traumatised by torture, rape, the death or disappearance of loved ones and often combinations of all of these and other atrocities.
Manuel Bravo
Manuel Bravo provide free legal assistance to asylum seekers with First Tier Tribunal appeals and fresh claims.
They also provide legal assistance with settlement protection applications for refugees.

Manuel Bravo Project is named after an asylum seeker from Angola who fled, with his young son, to the UK after his pro-democracy activity led to attacks on his family, and the murder of his parents.
